BANKRUPT CHARGED
PROPER BOOKS NOT KEPT MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] "WANGANTO, Monday Pleading not guilty to two charges under the Bankruptcy Act Robert Wakefield Harris, a farmer and land agent, of Marton, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial when he appeared before Mr. H. J. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this afternoon. The accused was allowed bail of £IOO in his own recognisance, with one surety of a similar amount. The charges were of failing to keep proper books and incurring debts at a time when he had no reasonable or probable expectation of being able to pay. Accused, who was adjudged bankrupt on August 3 last, when his statement of affairs showed a deficiency of £7152, was publicly examined in October.
Bryan S'»«, deputy-official assignee at Wangar .ii, said in evidence to-day that the accused's books had been correctly kept until March 31, 1932.
