PIPE BAND CONTEST
DANNEVIRKE EVENTS [by telegraph—rnF-ss association] DANNEVIRKE, Saturday The annual contest of the Wellington and Hawke's Bay Pipe Band centre was held to-day. Seven bands competed and there was an attendance of nearly 500 people. The local Rnahine band won Hiree events. Tho results wore as follows: Street march: Ruahiiio, 1; Wellington Caledonian, 2; Feilding, 3. Quick step: Rualiine, 1; Manawatu Scottish, 2; Wairarapa College, 3. Drum major's display: Ruahiue, 1; Manawatu Scottish, 2.
