THE latest ideas in construction, decoration and equipment are embodied in the new Plaza Theatre, one of the Amalgamated Theatres chain, which will open to-day with "My Lucky Star " a 20th Century Fox film starring Sonja Henie. After the fire which considerably damaged the interior ■ and equipment of the theatre about six months ago it was decided to rebuild, and the Plaza Theatre as it will appear to patrons to-night is an entirely new structure. The ceiling treatment is carried out by a series of curved troughs connecting with the abstract panel design on each wall. The main lighting is by a series of coloured neon tubes, giving ample but restful indirect illumination. About a mile of tubing was used in the whole theatre.
