In the course of his career bo was stationed at Oamaru. Ciiristchurch, Dunedin and Hutt Valley. Mr. Juriss was formerly a champion athlete and oarsman, having represented Canterbury and Otago as an athlete and being winner of the champion single sculls at the Christcburch jubilee regatta in 1901. He is the holder of the gold medallion of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand.
