SHEARING DELAYS

SEASON AT GISBORNE EFFECT OF THE WEATHER [by telegraph OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Wednesday Shearing in the Gisboruo district is expected to extond beyond Christmas and perhaps well into January. It is ono of tho worst seasons experienced In tho district for somo time. This position is all the more remarkable because the country is so dry. Good rains would bo welcomed in order to improve the feed. Showers experienced for somo months have not been sufficient to benefit the pasture, but thoy have been frequent enough to seriously dislocate tho schedules of the shearing gangs. In addition, some of the shearing gangs aro stated to be hardly up to the standard of last year, which has further delayed progress. The shearing delays have resulted in bidibidi getting into much of the wool, which was expected to be oft' the sbeep before tho seed heads appeared. Bidibidi is reported to bo worse this year than last.
