ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

GIFTS TO STAFF MEMBER FAREWELL GATHERING LONG SERVICE ACKNOWLEDGED A pleasant and informal function took place in the boardroom of the St. 'John Ambulance Association yesterday afternoon, when members of the general committee met to farewell iNJiss F. V. Fox, a member of the stall', who is shortly to be married. Miss Fox has been senior clerk at the ambulance station for a long period and about a year ago was made a serving sister of the Order. The chairman, Mr. C. J. Tunks, who, on behalf of the general committee, presented Miss Fox with a cheque, referred to the invaluable service she had rendered the association and to her

efficiency and courtesy all the time she had been a member of the staff. Further tributes to Miss Fox were paid by Mr. S. E. Langstone, manager of the association, who. with Mrs. Langstone, arranged the farewell party. A travelling case and hatbox to match were presented to Miss Fox on behalf of the ambulance transport staff, while bouquets- of prize gladioli, roses and other flowers and individual gifts had been sent to her by friends unable to attend the function.
