CRICKET INNOVATION

DEVICE FOR TESTING LIGHT The Queensland Cricket Association ha« appointed a sub-committee to investigate and test a mechanical contrivance which a supporter has suggested would revolutionise the game by deciding light appeals. It is claimed that a standard of light could be set by it and:that its use would quickly determine whether or not play should continue. The instrument in question, a luminamotor, is standard equipment in electricity undertakings throughout the world and operates in or out of doors. It is sonsitive to light, acts at once, and, being little larger than nn ordinary watch, can be carried in a pocket. If the sub-committee is satisfied with its experiments, which will include use in grade cricket, the Queensland Cricket Association will move to have the luminameter introduced to Sheffield Shield cricket.
