RUGBY IN ENGLAND

LONDON CLUB MEMBERSHIP SEVERAL NEW ZEALANDERS [from our own correspondent] LONDON, Not. 28 A London Rugby club is proud of the fact that it numbers among its members more New Zealanders than any other in this country. It is the Catford Bridge Club, now in its 63rd season, and it turns out four teams every Saturday, each with a good sprinkling of New Zealanders. They include Donald Cobden (Christchurch), R. H. Mackrell (Invercargill), K. Eraser, lan Calder, T. Petersen and F. Bowling (Wellington), R. Stewart, R. A. Pickmere, Owen Mason, J. Kendrick and W. S. Smith (Auckland), K. R. R. Bowie and Max Gray (Gisborne) and F. Brewster (Napier). Most of them have played for the first team, for which Mackrell, Eraser, Bowling and Bowie turn out regularly. The club's ground is at Park Langley, Beckenham, and any New Zeatynder visiting London with a spare Saturday afternoon at his disposal in the winter could do worse than pay it a visit. Any advice or directions necessary will be given by Mr. S. S. D. Ross at 1 New Zealand House.
