MOUNT EDEN COUNCIL
NORMANBY ROAD CROSSING A reply to requests for financial aid in constructing an overbridge at the Normanby Road level crossing was received by the Mount Eden- Borough Council last night from the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, through Mr. F. W. Schramm, M.P. for Auckland East. The Minister stated that the department could llot exceed its usual rate of contribution of onesixth of the cost. It was decided to refer the matter to the Public Works Department. A report was received that building permits to the value of £2520 were issued in November, compared with £7608 iu the bame period last year.
