EARL BEATTY AND WIFE COMING TO AUCKLAND . v £fbom our own correspondent] APIA, Dec. 12.,;. Earl and Countess Beatty have bees the guests of the Acting-Administrator and Mrs. Turnbull, for the past three weeks. In spite of the unfavourable weather, the visitors have had an interesting time and have been shown many things of interest. They had a 10 days' malaga in Savai'i, where Mr. T. Robson, the Resident Commissioner, took them for a trip round the island, during which they-experienced the joys of a tropical wet season and were held up for four days in one village. The natives showed great interest in the Earl and Countess and they were entertained in typical Samoan fashion. They will leave here on Thursday for Pago Pago to join tho Monterey, en route to Auckland.
