Gordon, of Wanganui, has been appointed chief flying instructor at No. 7 Flying Training School, Peterborough, in succession to Squadron-Leader A. C. Mitchell. Squadron-Leader Gordon entered the Royal Air Force with, a short-service commission in February, 1930, and. after training at Netheravon, served for a year with No. 4 (Army Co-opera-tion) Squadron at Fnrnborough. He then qualified as a flying-boat pilot-* and for two and a-half years was with No. 210 (F. 8.) Squadron at Pembroke. A permanent commission was granted him in June, 1930. after he had qualified as a flying instructor. Dunns the past three and n-half years ho has been on the staff at ISo. 6 Hying Training School, Netheravon.
