CHRISTMAS MUSIC

BAPTIST TABERNACLE SELECTIONS FROM " MESSIAH " Christmas music was sung by tho Baptist Tabernacle clioir, conducted by Air. A. E. Wilson, at the Tabernacle last night. The first part of the programme comprised carols, and the second part selections from Handel's "Messiah." The congregation joined in the singing of two of tho carols, "The First Noel" and "Silent Night, Holy Night." Other carols by the choir were "Sing, Christians, Sing," "1 Saw Three Ships" and "The Seven Joys of Alary." "Nazareth" was also included on tho first part of the programme, and a ladies' sextette presented "Christmas Blessing." Many of the best-known airs and choruses from the "Messiah" wero sung by the choir, the soloists being Airs R. Wild, Airs. W. J. Litherland, Miss N. Freehand, Air. AV. L. Turley and Air. Clinton Williams. The choruses included "Hallelujah," "His Yoke is Easy," "Glory to God" and "For Unto Us." Air. 1?. R. Wilson was at tho organ, and tho piano accompaniments wore played by Airs. T. Bramo Clarko.
