STANDING VEHICLE STRUCK DRIVER LATER ARRESTED [nv TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] GISBORNE, Wednesday A young woman was admitted to hospital at 3.30 o'clock this morning as the result of a collision between a car driven by John Stevenson, a lorry driver, and a stationary car in Norman Road. The girl, who was in Stevenson's car, suffered injuries from flying glass. Stevenson was later arrested and appeared before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M.. this morning charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. Accused, wbo pleaded not guiltv, was remanded until December 19. bail being allowed in two sureties of £SO each.
