CHRISTMAS PARTY

BACKWARD CHILDREN Tho school rooms at the Institute for the Care of Backward Children presented a bright and colourful scene on Tuesday, when, through the generosity of a number of business men, a Christmas party was given to tho children. A short programme of songs and dances was presented, after which Father Christinas arrived with his bag of toys and gifts for everyone. In addition to tho children's party tho parents were entertained to afternoon tea in an adjoining room. The president, Miss B. Carnachan, thanked all who had made tho function such a wonderful success. Members of the committee assisting were:—Mrs. K. O'Halloran, Mrs. S. E. Konnings, Mrs. It.E. Doweling, Mrs. J. C. Gulliver, Miss ]?. Mahon, Miss 10. M. Goldsworth.v, Miss N. Martin, Miss M. Muir, and Miss F. Waddingham. The decorations were carried out by Mrs. Aitken and Mrs. Oatcs. Tho headmistresSj Miss Lang, and her staff, Miss Fish, Miss Prince and Mrs. Archer, had dono a great deal of work in preparation for a most successful afternoon
