INTER-SCHOOLS' MATCH KING'S DEFEATS GRAMMAR The annual cricket match between King's College and Auckland Grammar School was played at Middlcmore yesterday when, for the first time for several years, King s secured a substantial win. The wicket played well, having made a good recovery from the previous day's rain. King's won the toss and elected to bat. Runs came steadily and a total of 135 was on the board when the last wicket fell. , T , The principal scorers were:—-Noakes 41. Coleman 28, Castles-Brown 21, Newcomb 10. Morrison 10. Bowling for Grammar: Smecton took seven wickets for 33 runs, Stichbury two for -1, Matthews one for 23. Grammar failed to mako a stay at the wickets, and many fell cheaply. Only two batsmen reached double, figures, Gill. 33. and Roe, 23. Tho side was dismissed for 10/ runs. Bowling for King's: Wilson took four wickets for 24 runs. Dixon four for 25. Bibby two for 10.
