DIRECTOR APPOINTED POST FOR MR. A. E. CAMPBELL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Wednesday The New Zealand Council of Educational Besearch to-day selected Mr. A. E. Campbell as director, in succession to Dr. C. E. Boeby, who was recently appointed Assistant Director of Education. Mr. Campbell is at present lecturer in education and director of Workers' Educational Association studies at Victoria University College, and is also secretary of the Dominion council of the Workers' Educational Association. He has a brilliant academic record, and has had wide and varied experience in practical education. A resolution was passed expressing very high appreciation of the excellent work done by Dr. Beebv, the first director, and stating that while the council sincerely regrets the loss of Dr. Beeby's most valuable services, it is pleased to see him occupying one of the kev positions in the educational service and wishes him a long and successful career in the Department of Education.
