CEYLON TO SINGAPORE ONE, MACHINE SUCCEEDS Independent Cable Service (Received December 14, 5.5 p.m.) SINGAPORE. Dec. 13 The first of three Short Sunderland flying-boats attempting a non-stop flight from Ceylon to Singapore arrived at 11 a.m., local time. A second machine landed on Nancowry Island through motor trouble and the third stopped to pick up the occupants of the disabled craft. Then she came on to Singapore. *
