AUCKLAND HOSPITAL FEES ■ y! ; PROTEST FROM WHANGAREI [by TELEGRAPH —OWN coebespondektJ WHANGAREI, Tuesday The Whangarei Hospital Board is to enter a protest to the Department of Health against the action of the Auck. land board in increasing the hospital fees of patients from outside district! to 15s a day. : • = "This increase will seriously affect this board, 1 ' said Mr. J. A. S. Mackay, chairman of the Whangarei board, at its meeting yesterday. "Quite a number of cases from this district are admitted to the Auckland Hospital, and if the patient does not pay the fees this board is responsible. A charge of los a day for children is ridiculous, when it is compared with the 6s that a child from Auckland would pay if m , inmate of the Whangarei Hospital."
