But remember, Christmas Cake and Pudding ingredients cost money, so take no risk with inferior, so-called "just as good" Baking Powder. Ensure success by insisting on Edmonds 'Sure-to-Rise* Baking Powder. EDMONDS CHRISTMAS CAKE l-lb. butter, I-lb. raisins, 4-oz, mixed peel, 2-lbs. flour, 10 eggs, wineglass brandy, l-lb. currants, l-ib. sultanas, 4-oz. almonds (chopped), I-lb. sugar, ! heaped teaspbon EDM<pNDS BAKING POWDER. Beat butter to a cream, add sugar, then eggs one by one (unbeaten); mix baking powder with flour and put in, then fruit dredged with flour, lastly brandy. Cook 4£ hours in moderate oven. EDMONDS CHRISTMAS PUDDING IJ-lb. flour, 4 teaspoons EDMONDS BAKING POWDER, 12-oz. breadcrumbs, chopped suet, 12-oz. brown sugar, I dessertspoon treacle (or more), 9 eggs, J teaspoon Essence of Lemon, 2 cups milk, li-lb. sultanas, l-lb. currants, l-lb. raisins, 8-oz. almonds (blanched), 8-oz. mixed peel.i packet spice, h level teaspoon salt, £ nutmeg (grated), 2 tablespoons brandy. Mix well dry Ingredients, add fruit previously prepared, treacle, eggs well beaten, and lastly milk, essence and brandy. Darken with burnt sugar if desired. Put into scalded and floured pudding cloths or into wellgreased basins covered with scalded and fiouie pudding cloths.
