BRIDE WEARS WHITE LACE THREE BRIDESMAIDS ATTEND FROM OUR OWN COIUIKSPONDENTI HAMILTON, Sunday Scarlet carnations and white St. Joseph lilies decprated St. Peter's Cathedral, Hamilton, on Saturday evening for the wedding of Miss Alison Gwendoline Hooker, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Hooker, of River Road, Hamilton, and Mr. Rolf Porter, of Auckland, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Nello Porter, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera. The Rev. Paul Sergei performed the ceremonv.

The bride, who was given away by Iter father, wore an exquisite Empire gown of white stiffened Chantilly lace. The corsage was fashioned with shortsleeves edged with ruched tulle, and the bouffant skirt was trimmed with a scalloped niching of tulle, with a sprig of orange blossom at each scallop. A billowy white train was formed by the' veil of ivory tulle, which was worn over the bride's face, as she entered the church, and attached to the head with a top-knot of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of white Christmas and St. Joseph lilies. The Bridesmaids In attendance as bridesmaids were M iss Natalie Hooker (sister of the bride), and the Misses Biddy and Pat Farrer. They wore frocks of cream chiffon over cream taffetas, each with a full boclico gathered from each shoulder into a swathed sash, which was loojjed over at the back. The dresses, which were trimmed with a row of tiny matching buttons from the neckline to the waist at the back, had short sleeves, while the skirts fell in full folds to the ground. Top knots of scarlet carnations were worn 011 their heads and each carried a shower bouquet of scarlet carnations. The bridegroom was attended bv his brother, Mr. Peter Porter, as best man, and by Mr. Peter Germann (Auckland), and Mr. Paul Griffiths (Auckland), as groomsmen. Acting as ushers were Mr. E. Friedlander (Auckland), Mr. J. Cairns (Helensville), Mr. K. Mabin (Auckland), Mr. F. dcMalmaiiche (Auckland) and Mr. J. Pountnev.

A largely-attended reception was afterward held at the home of the bride's parents in River Road, the house being attractively decorated for the occasion witn „ scarlet and white flowers.

To receive her guests Mrs. Hooker wore a frock of foxglove stiffened lace, and a black picture hat. She carried a bouquet of Maori Chief carnations. Mrs. Porter, the bridegroom's mother, was wearing a black morocain frock patterned with painted miniature green, white and red flowers. Her black toque had an eye veil and she carried a bouquet of crimson roses.
