BRIDGE-DECK CKUISEK LARGEST IN DOMINION LAUNCH OF TE RAUPARAHA A valuable addition to Auckland's fleet of pleasure craft was made oil Saturday morning, when a modern bridge-deck cruiser, buiit to the order of Mr. H. J. Mills, of Remuera, was launched from the yards of Messrs. C. Bailey and Sons, Beaumont Street, Freeman's Bay. Claimed to be the largest of her type in the Dominion, the new craft, which was named Te Rauparaha by Mrs. Mills as; she took the water, is Soft, overall, with a beam of 14ft. and a draught of oft. She is a single skin vessel, with bent frames and is constructed o| kauri with teak decks. In addition to her commodious bridge deck, the boat also has a flying bridge above it —the first of its kind to be fitted in pleasure craft in the Dominion. The main controls are in the bridge deck, but a second steering wheel is provided on the flying bridge which will enable her owner to steer the vessel from there in fine weather. The fore cabin is 14ft. in length and the galley 6ft. by the width of the vessel.
