AUCKLAND TEAM WINS MATCH WITH THAMES VALLEY CONTESTS AT HERRIESVILLE SUPERIORITY OF VISITORS [BV TELEGRAPH —OWN COIIRESPONDENT] TE AROHA, Sunday Thames Valley was defeated by a strung. Auckland lawn tennis side at llerriosville yesterday, when some of the finest play seen in these parts for years was witnessed. The Aucklanders won by J(3 matches to 4 and showed I themselves superior in all sections. The courts were slightly wet, but improved with tho fine afternoon. Mayson disposed of Wright, Thames Valley's leading man, with comparative ease, while Miss P. Cooke had a good win against Mrs Swann, the [prominent Thames Valley player. Miss R. Horn, of the Eastport Club, was the most consistent of the Thames Valley lady players. Her victory over Miss Wade was well merited.
