SCIENCE APPOINTMENT
WESLEY COLLEGE MASTER J ■ ■ SCHOOL IN SOUIH ISLAND [BY TfeKEGBAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] ' DkUNEDEf, Saturday The board of governors of John Mtv Glashan College has appointed Mr. F. E. Whimp, science master at Wesley College, Paerata, to the position of science and mathematics master. Mrs. Whimp, of Paerata School, has been appointed infant mistress at the college. -—i-i. Mr. Whimp was born in Auckland and received his education at the Hastings Primary School and Hastings High School, at both of which he was dux. He graduated as master of science from the Auckland University College in 1934 and spent the year 1936 at the Auckland Teachers' Training College. Mr. Whimp was well known in Rugby football circles, playing f°? Auckland Training College and Grafton Club teams at different times.
Before his appointment as science master at Wesley College in September of last, year he was for a time teaching at the Hastings Primary School. Mr. Whimp will commence bis new duties on February 1 next year. Mrs. Whimp will take charge of the preparatory department at the college.
