NEW INFANT SCHOOL
CAMPBELL'S BAY ADDITIONS CORONATION MEMORIAL GATES Tho new infant school and the Coronation Memorial gates at the Campbell's Bay School were officially opened on Saturday afternoon in the presence of moro than 700 people. Tho building was officially opened by Mr. W. J. Lyon, M.P., who congratulated those concerned upon the remarkable growth and development of the school and upon the excellent grounds and buildings. In declaring the memorial gates open, Mr. W. J. Campbell, of the Auckland Education Board, also paid a tribute to tho rapid expansion of tho school. Other speakers included Messrs. J. C. Ronnie, chairman of tho school committee, J. S, Wilcox, headmaster, K. J. Dellow, headmastor of the Takapuna Grammar School, G. Collins, chairman of tho Takapuna Gramma? School Committee, and G. Malcolm, chairman of tho Takapuna Dental Clinio committeo. Also present were Messrs. C. R. Munro and R. A. Rew, of the Auckland Education Board. The annual garden fete was held in conjunction with tho official ceremonies and, as a result, tho school sports fund will benefit to tho extent of over £3O. The Sir James Parr Cup, awarded to tho most improved pupil during the vcar, was presented to Marjorio Merry by Mrs. J. C. Rennie.
