STRIKE TO CONTINUE
WATERSIDE WORKERS PORT KEMBLA DECISION ANIMUS AGAINST JAPAN (Received December 7, 7.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 7 After a conference with officials of the waterside workers yesterday, the Commonwealth Government deferred the issue of licences to wharf labourers at Port Kembla until to-day, pending negotiations for a settlement of tho dispute over the non-loading of pig-iron in the steamer Dalfram for Japan. The waterside workers, however, decided to continue the strike in defiance of the Government's ultimatum in regard to licensing. Several speakers at a mass meeting to-day declared that nothing would alter their decision against loading materials likely to be used as Avar munitions by Japan against China. Arrangements have been made to picket the local wharves.
