ENGLISH GIRL ATHLETE
TRIP TO VIENNA MISSED Tho recent international crisis undoubtedly affected the lives of many individuals, and one very disappointed young woman was Miss Katherine Cornall, of Leeds. One of the team of British women athletes bound for Vienna, Miss Cornall was called to the telephone half an hour before the boattrain left and acceded to her father's plea to remain in England until the crisis was settled. Miss Cornall, who is a 22-year-old student at Leeds University, is considered to bee Britain's finest javelin thrower. Travelling to Vienna were eight girls from London, two from Birmingham and one from Portsmouth. They were under the captaincy of Miss Audrey Brown, on© of the .Birchfield harriers.
