ST. BARNABAS PARISH
SISTER EMILY FAREWELLED WRISTLET WATCH PRESENTED A pleasant function took place in the parish hall of St. Barnabas Church, Mount Eden, after evening service last Sunday, when the vicar, the Rev. G. R. Monteith, invited the parishioners to meet there to farewell Sister Emily, of the Order of the Good Shepherd. Sister Emily has worked in the St. Barnabas parish for nearly eight years and, on behalf of the parishioners, Mr. Monteith presented her with a wristlet watch, suitably inscribed, and a music hymn book. During the evening, members of the Mothers' Union dispensed supper. Sister Emily has been appointed matron of the Brett Orphanage, Takapuna. This post was formerly held by Sister Margaret, who was recently elected to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mother Hannah, Superior of the Order of the Good Shepherd, Grey's Avenue.
