SECOND PROGRAMME GOOD FREE-LEGGED PACERS INTEREST IN EXHIBITION LAWN DERBY, NERVIE'S LAST BY ABAYDOS Keen interest is being taken in tho second meeting of the Waikato Trotting Club, to be hold on Saturday. The exhibition race between tho free-legged pacers Lawn Derby and Norvio's Last should prove a splendid attraction. Lawn Derby in Australia is tho holder of the following mile records: —Harold Park, 2.2 4-5; Sydney Showground, 2.3 1-3; Melbourne Showground, 2.3 3-5; Muvville, Adelaide, 2.5; and Brisbane, 2.9. He also holds the mile and a-ha 11' winning race record of 3.13, established at Ascot, Melbourne. In New Zealand Lawn Derby has a two-mile record of. 4.17 3-5 at Epsom, while at New Brighton ho lowered the track record to 2.3; which is tho fastest grass mile record. His outstanding performance was at Addington last month, when he returned 1.59 2-5. Nervio's Last.has a grass track record of 2.4 at Epsom and also a placed mile and a-half race record of 3.15 1-5. At his last start he finished fourth in the Jellicoe Handicap in 3.13 4-5. He has also won at two miles, and his best record is 4.21 1-5 at Addington. Tho Claudelands track record of 2.4 1-5 stands to the credit of Impromptu. Tho track at 6 present does not favour record-making, but, with a drying wind and a cessation of rain before Saturday, tho going will be much improved. Epsom trainers who have remained at Claudelands are:—L. Laver, with Fernbrook Lass, Whitstono, Parishioner and Great Surprise; C. M. Morrison, with Great Sonoma, Eighteen Carat and Canadian; G. H. Phipps, with Auto Bingen and Don Walla; A. McGarry, with Bismuth; and J. E. Segar, with Glen Bingen. The Mangere trainer T. Roe has Stalky, who did not race on Saturday, Singing Bird and Jewel Crest.' ' C. H. Goodall is in charge of Kewpie's King, Baron Alfonso, Militia and Barney Bingen. A. W. Broughton returned to Takanini with Our War, John's Last and Vice Regal, having made arrangements to train on Goodall's tracks, and he will return for the second meeting. Other horses training temporarily at Claudelands are Big Kauri, Activity, Black Native, Glorietta and Effie Parish. M. Stewart has a team of 18 in commission, and recent additions are the Auckland horses True Trust and Tommy McElwyn and the Canterbury pacer Bayard. The last-named is only a pony, but has a fine turn of speed. Stewart will shortly be transferring to Te Rapa, where a property has been acquired and tracks aro being laid. F. Cutts, who was training at Mangere, has taken up residence at Hamilton. He has Compass, Roma Girl and Loyal Betty under his care. O'Shea will arrive in Auckland on Monday, remaining at Epsom until after the summer meeting. Mr. J. F. McKenney, owner of Lawn Derby, will arrive to-morrow morning and, with O'Shea, will be the guest of the Waikato Trotting Owners and Trainers' Association to-morrtfw evening. Smith) trotted a mile and a-half evenly in 3.51 and with a firm track she would have prospects. ,

Stewart) gave a Bound display over two miles. Musketeer (S. G. Matthews) and Parishioner (L. Laver) were given unhoppled p: .work. J. Flanagan has a good novice in Lough Swilly, by Loch Moigh—Daisy Billon. Two b%- the same sire are recent additions to E. R.
