CENTENNIAL FUNDS
CAMPAIGN IN WHANQAREI [I'ROM our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday At a meeting, called by the Whangarei centennial committee, to form a finance sub-committee for the raising of funds for the centennial, Mr. R. K. Trimmer was appointed chairman of the sub-committee, and Mr. E. R. Stainton," secretary. The nucleus of the sub-committee was set up, but the full personnel has not yet been appointed. The first object of the subcommittee will be the raising of £IOBO, the Whangarei district's commitment to the Northland centennial committee. A sum of £2160 was the allocation, but half this has been subscribed by the local bodies in the area. The Other half is to bo raised by public subscription.
