It is believed that the Pope was preparing an Encyclical before his recent illness denouncing religious and racial persecution. It is reliably stated, says a message from Berlin, tha£ Herr Hitler has promised to release Pastor Neimoller shortly. ~ , Pastors of the Confessional movement disclosed from pulpits that the Nazi Teachers' Association has instructed its members to discontinue religious instruction in schools, says the Berlin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. The reason given is that the Bible glorifies people whence came the murderer of Dr. von Rath, Herschel Grynszpan: Many of the pastors are in trouble for sympathising with Jews.
