BOOKINGS FOR ENGLAND EXODUS NEXT AUTUMN HEAVY VOLUME OF TRAFFIC While the influx of tourists from overseas is now at its peak, large numbers of bookings for passages abroad have already been made for the seasonal exodus in March, April and May. Shipping companies conducting services to the northern hemisphere, the goal of numbers of New Zealandcrs during the Dominion winter, reported yesterday that indications for the season were that the high figures of the past two years would be maintained. Passenger accommodation on liners in the direct service between New Zealand and Britain has received substantial Txjokings for the three months beginning with March and this trend has also applied to the routes via North America and Suez. The forward reservations were delayed in many instances for some time because of the elections, but the leeway has since been overtaken. The increase in the number of overseas visitors to New Zealand has resulted in return bookings for the tourists occupying a considerable proportion of the total passenger accommodation. of New Zealand travellers for abroad at precisely the same season complicates the position, and it is expected that in a few months' time forward bookings will substantially fill available facilities.
