CARTOON OF HITLER

I FUEHRER TAKES OFFENCE LUXEMBOURG EDITOR ON TRIAL (Received November 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 28 As a sequel to the German envoy sending to Herr Hitler a cartoon of the Fuehrer published in a newspaper at Esch, Luxembourg, the editor, M. Hubert Clement, who is also the Mayor, and a Member of Parliament, has been charged with insulting the head of a foreign State. Counsel for the defence, treating the case jocularly, called as his "first witness" Mr, Chamberlain, as currently cartooned with and without his umbrella, and declared ho did not protest when employed as a target. Counsel added that the writ was obscure and not precise because personages must accept the risk of being cartooned and the liberty of the press must be respected. The case was adjourned until December 6, when the famous French advocate Maitre Vincent do Moro-Giafferi will take up the defence. Famous foreign cartoonists will appear as witnesses. .
