INSTITUTE AFFAIRS
Mangapeolii.—The monthly meeting of the institute took the form of a "bring and buy" sale. Several visitors were present, among whom were members of the Pukekohe and Mangaokewa institutes. One new member was welcomed. Remits for the annual meeting were discussed, and the delegate to the half-yearly conference gave her report. A concert programme was presented, followed by afternoon tea. Napier.—lt was decided at the annual meeting to have a Christmas tree for the children toward the end of the year. The president, Mrs, Stanton. presided, and afternoon tea was served.
Mangaokewa.—The president, Mrs. Brown, presided at the monthly meeting, and welcomed tho president of the King Country Federation, Miss Crosier. An account of the bi-annual conference was given, and arrangements for the annual children's day were discussed.
Jubilee. —Mrs. Hogarth presided at the monthly meeting and welcomed the visitors and several now members. Mrs. Whaten demonstrated art work. Competition results were:—Sponge jam roll: Mrs. Kerr, 1; Mrs. Sandos, 2. Tatting: Mrs. Foster, 1; Mrs. Saiulos, 2. Roses: Mrs. Gibson, 1; Mrs. Thornley, 2. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Maxwell, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Burton and Mrs. Wilson, and Mrs. CooperSmith was in charge of the trading table. •
Greenhithe. —The institute celebrated its 12th anniversary recently. Items were given by Mrs. Franson, Mrs. Henderson, Mr. Dilworth and students of tho Auckland Training College. Members of the institute presented a play. The evening ended with a dance.
