•MR. JOHN MacKAY £fbom cur own correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday The death has occurred of Mr. John MacKay, who for more than 2o years practised as. a surveyor in the Upper Thames Valley district, and for the greater part of that time resided in Morrinsville. He_.was associated with the development of the district, in which a vast amount of subdivision and closer settlement has taken place. Mr. MacKay is survived by his wife and two .sons and two daughters. DR. J. 0. WADMORE [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Tuesday The death occurred at his residence in Domain Boad, Whakatane, this morning of Dr. James Christopher Wadmore, aged GO- Dr. Wadmore'a father was a prebendary of Wells Cathedral. Dr. Wadmoro was born near Bristol and studied medicine first at Bristol Unversity and then at Edinburgh and London. He came to New Zealand for health reasons, first, practising at Hamilton and then at Whakatane, On tho outbreak of the Great War he went to England and joined the Royal Army Medical Corps, serving on hospital ships in the Mediterranean and On a hospital train in Franco. He was also the founder and until recently secretary of tho Bny of Plenty Maori and' Historical Research Society. Ho was an authority* 011 the history and customs of tho Maori. A member, of the Polynesian Society, he was a correspondent of Dr. Peter Buck, of the Bishop Museum, Hawaii. He is survived by Mrs. Wadmore and one son and one daughter.. ' •

MR. JOSEPH WILLIAMS [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] / , TATJRANGA, Tuesday The death has: occurred of Mr. Joseph Williams, aged 87, at his residence; at Te Maunga, -near Mount Maunganui. Mr., Williams was born in County Kerry, Ireland, and came out to New Zealand over 60 years ago. He was among th«? early farmers in Te Puke block. Later he resided at Waihi for some years, and, after making a trip to England, he returned and settled oil a farm in Waitao Valley, which he subsequently sold, and then moved to another property at To Puke. He took up a bloqk of new land at Te r Maunga 20 years ago and had since resided there. He is survived by Mts. Williams and two sons.
