A colourful French peasant dance was a very popular item.

A feature of the festivities took the form of refreshments in the activities lounge, which had been decorated in traditional style with flowers, balloons, streamers, holly and Christmas trees. Each girl's place at the table was marked by her name printed on a novel card cut to the shape of a fawn, while crackers and paper hats did much to create a festive atmosphere. The programme concluded with the singing of various weil-known _ songs, in which all present joined with enthusiasm. I '' Miss A. Kennedy then proposed a vote of thanks* to Miss Harmsworth, the physical director, and all those who had done so much to make the party a success.
