Sir, —We must all be thankful to our worthy chairman and bis supporters on the Hospital 13oard for their plans for an up-to-date hospital for the future, and we can only hope the vision'will come to actual fact. : V v
In the meantime, if a scheme for tho examination of the health of every per. son at frequent intervals was made, with the compulsory provision of soap.:, water and paper towels in every resvV{ taurant, and persons baud ling cash were not allowed to handle food, then wo would bo saved the eating of; dirt with our food, and there not be the need of such a largo hospital av!s! contemplated. While we aro waiting for Ruth bene. - fits to materialise, if a kindly donor would present the hospital with a.jolt. :,•• proof ambulance for use in tho transferring of inmates to the X-ray and massage departments, and also provide guards around the beds of cases to prevent the absent-minded from bumping the weights thereon, su(h benefactors would earn the Messing of iS sufferers.
