BALI AT FRANKTON ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS MANY GUESTS PJRESENT A largely-attended Victory Ball was held in the Frankton Town Hall recently. The organisers were a combined committee from the Hamilton and Frankton Junction branches of the Labour Party. Attractive decorations had been carried out in the hall and prominent , features in the arrangements were two oil paintings, one of the Primo Minister, Mr. Savage, and the other of the late Mr. H. E. Holland.

The principal guests were Mr. 0. A. Barrell, M.P. for Hamilton, and Mrs. Barrell, who were received by the president of the men's committee, Mr. F. H. Sutherland, and the president of the ladies' committee, Mrs. J. Elvey, who was wearing a frock of black cloque. Mrs. Barrell was wearing a frock of black and silver crepe, with sequinned lace coatee. She was presented with a scarlet bouquet by the oldest member of the Frankton Junction branch, Mrs. J. Hawkins. The secretaries, Mr. N. A. Holdaway and Mrs. T. Skittrup, the latter wearing black panne velvet, also took part in the ceremony. The official. hostess, Mrs. J. Eastwell, who was wearing a frock of Burgundy floral crepe vendome,, was as-, sisted by the president's wife, Mrs. F. H, Sutherland, who' wore a frock of panne velvet. Members of the ladies' committee were: —Mrs. J. Comer, wearing navy embossed satin beaute; Mrs. R. Koane, black satin beaute; Mrs. T. Senior, nile green'crepe soie;. Mrs. E. Morris, wine, taffetas; Mrs. A. Fawcett, green slipper satin; Mrs. G. B. Foster, navy rose arid white figured crepe soie; Mrs. Curtis, navy and whitf> patterned crepe de chine; Mrs. A. McLaren, black velour crepe; Mrs. J. Huff, primrose and blue flowered crepe faille; Mrs. A. Aherne, rose and grey striped silk; Mrs. D. Mcßeath, navy crepe romaine; Mrs. H. Filer, Wallis blue crepe soie; Mrs. A. J. MeLeod, black cloque and lace; Mrs. A. Coley, navy and white figured faille; Mrs. A. Gillespie, black: crepe faille; Mrs. J. Thompson, black crepe soie; Mrs. T. W. Hunter, lagoon blue souple satinj Miss Gwen Foster, gold lame; Miss Fawcett, lagoon blue crepe vendome', Miss M. Aherne, black cire taffetas* A sit-down supper had been the tables being decorated with scarlet streamers and bowls of Iceland poppies, larkspur and Sweet Williams with fern! Messrs. T. Skittrup, G. Foster, Al Bell, J. A. Ruff and G. Moss were the masters of ceremonies.
