The fact that the Dominion Union co-operates with tho big Australian promoters has made tho fixture definite. By offering tho large guarantee necessary, which, it is stated, no other association in tho Dominion was able to do, Auckland secured tho services of Jonathan, who has'been drawing big houses in Australia, ono of his rocent matches being watched by ovor 15.000 spectators. Tho Auckland Association, however, was confident of the support the match will receive, and local enthusiasts will have un opportunity of seeing one Of the beat known figures in tho mat sport. Jonathan, who is noted for his sizo, his beard, and-his rugged yet skilful wrestling, was well known by re putation in tin Dominion before he canto out to Australia, but his performances in Melbourne, Sydney and other big cities in tho Commonwealth brought it homo to followers of the sport that lie is ono of wrestling's greatest attractions as woll as ono of its most formidable exponents. BLOMFIELD IN WAIHI EXHIBITION OF HOLDS [BY TKLKGHAI'II —OWN COMtKSrONDENT] WAIHI, Friday The professional wrestler Lofty Blomfield visited waihi this weok and, assisted by Mr. J. McLean, of Auckland, gave an exhibition of holds, which was witnessed by a largo audienco. On behalf of the Waihi Wrestling Club, tho Mayor, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, presented Blomfield and Mr. McLean with silvermounted inscribed shields. In extending a wel' come to the visitors, Mr. Wallnutt expressed tho appreciation of the club at Blomfield's visit to Waihi, with a view to giving an impetus to wrestling in tho district. Results of amateur bouts wore as follows: — S. Davidson, list, beat 11. Kcogh, Dst Sib. Davidson, who is an experienced wrestler, won by a fall in tho first round.
E. Mackio, 12st, boat G. Holmes, 12st Gib. Tho latter received an injury to his left arm in tho first round and could not continue. M. Sewell, lOst (Auckland) beat R, Sleeman, lOst 101b. Tho Aucklander proved a very .clever wrestler and won by two falls.
