DISASTROUS FIRE
TWO THOUSAND PERISH MANY CHINESE DESTITUTE LONDON, Nov. 20 Two thousand people perished in a five-day fire which swept through the city of Changsha, states a message from Chungking. The Chinese Government is financing relief for the refugees and the police have returned to maintain order. The relief workers are supervising burials and aiding the destitute. The Japanese are advancing on Changsha and Sianyang. BRITISH ASSISTANCE INDIGNANT JAPANESE Independent Cable Service TOKIO, Nov. 20 The patriotic organisation Shiunso stated that Japan should punish Britain unless she ceases helping the Chinese Government. It added that Britain had helped General Chiang Kai-shek more than any Power except Ilussia. She also led world opinion against Japan.
