BRITAIN AND AMERICA SCHEME COSTING £37,500,000 GERMANY TO PROVIDE SHIPS i (Independent Cable Service) >,;■■■ LONDON, Nov. 18 Britain and"America have formulated a £37,500,000 scheme to offer sanctuary to aIL the 650,000 Jews of Germany. The United States will assist financially if Britain finds land for Jewish settlements. Britain is reported to have offered to open up British Guiana and portions of South Africa. Other colonial Powers will be asked to make similar offers. It is suggested that Brazil and other South American States, as well as the United States, will bei asked to increase their Jewish immigrant quotas. A five-Power conference to consider the plan may be held in London within the next week. The nations represented would be the United . States, Britain, France, the Netherlands and Brazil. Germany >may be asked to provide shipping and general transport, in view of the fact that she is depriving Jews of. their property. She will be formally approached for permission for her Jews to leave the country. An important statement outlining the proposal will be made very soon by the British Government.
