"CAREFREE" FOR THE CIVIC liringing tlie world-famous teiim of Fred Aslairc ami Ginger Rogers to the screen once again, the R.1v.0. Radio production "Carefree," which will open a season at the Civic Theatre on Friday, oilers a bright musical romance with startling dance routines. Well known For their successes in such films as "Roberta," "Top Mat'' and "Follow the Fleet," Astaire and Miss Rogers have unusual "opportunities in the present picture to display the talents which have won them such wide popularity with theatre-goers. When his fiancee, Amaifda Cooper (Miss Rogers), is unwilling to bo married, Stephen Allien seeks 1:1 le ad view of a. psychiatrist Tony Flagg (Astaire), hoping that he will succeed in persuading her to marry. The pretty patient complicate:; matters by falling in love with the specialist and. when Flagg fails to respond, Amanda commences a series of lighthearted adventures Meanwhile, Flagg has fallen in love with his- patient, only to find that he has a new resistance to overcome. How a lost cause is won at the last moment makes for an hilarious climax to an entertaining picture. The brilliant supporting cast is headed bv Luclla Gear, a famous Broadway comedienne, and Jack ("arson, claimed to be the comedy "find" of the year, together with Clarence Kolli and Franklin Pangborn.
