DEATH OF STEWARD
FALL DOWN SHIP'S HOLD COMMENT BY CORONER [by TELEGRAPH —PItESS association] WELLINGTON, Sunday "It would appear on the evidence that this man was down there for some unlawful purpose," said the coroner at an inquest into the death of Bernard Edward Fehners, aged 33, married, of Newport, Monmouthshire,- second steward of the Tekoa, whose body was found in one of the ship's holds yesterday morning. "He had no business thero at all. He was not working in ship's time." A finding was returned that deceased died from injuries received . through falling down No. 3 hold. Members of the ship's company stated that deceased had been to a dance on the evening before his death and had returned with a party of friends, whom he had later seen off the ship.. When deceased was found dead the following morning ho was dressed in working. clothes.
