STORE IN NORTH AUCKLAND ARREST AT TE AWAMUTU [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday Within six hours of a theft being committed at Matakana, a man was arrested yesterday by Constable J. Forsyth at Te Awamutu, over 170 miles away. Alfred Hicks Howell, aged 26. a, lab. ourer, later appeared before Mr. O. K. Sinclair, J.P., in tho Hamilton Police Court yesterday charged with breaking and entering the store of Isaac Railey, of Matakana, yesterday morning, and stealing clothing, shirts, cigarettes and chocolate, of a total value of £lO, tho property of Isaac Railey. On the application of Detective-Ser-geant J. Thompson, the accused was remanded to appear in Auckland on Wednesday.
