LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Papatoetoe.—The last meeting of the year of the Papatoetoe branch of the League of Mothers was held recently. An interesting address was given by Sister Edith, of St. Mary's Homes, Otahuhu, on the management of the homes. A large parcel of articles suitable for children was presented to her for use at thn homos. Items were given by Mrs. S. Brooks and Mrs. Sanderson. Hostesses were Mrs. Calder, Mrs. Cullan and Mrs. Haddock. Kohiinarama.—The monthly meeting of the Kohimarama branch was held recently in the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. F. Whyte presided over a good attendance of members. The speaker was Mrs. le Petit, Who also contributed two solos. Hostesses were Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Currie. Ponsonby Branch.—The November meeting of the Ponsonby branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Leys' Institute. Mrs. English presided over a large attendance of members. Visitors from Howick and Wellington were cordially welcomed. An address was given by Miss A. Kennedy on "Children in the homo and schooland songs were contributed by Mrs. Elsie Bell-Booth. Bouquets were presented to the speaker and singer. The thought for the; month was given by Mrs. Bell-Booth. Afternoon tea was served by the committee.
