OPEN EVENING HELD VARIED CONCERT PROGRAMME MANY GUESTS PRESENT Vases of Iceland poppies, tinted lilies, roses and antirrhinums decorated the Catholic Women's League rooms last night, when the second open evening of the year was held, a laige number of members and their friends being present. The guests were received by the president, Mrs. M. Pilling, who wore a frock of black Hat crepe with an embroidered bodice studded with diamante. Sho was assisted by the vicepresidents, Mrs. D. P. O'Leary, who wore black Chantilly lace and a floral lame coatee, and Mrs. C. Stichbury, in black lace with a corsage of red roses. Other members of the council present were:-—Mrs. N. Main, who wore vintage flat crepe; Mrs. E. Bell, rhododendron red satin; Mrs. J. B. Callan, Burgundy lace, with a corsage spray of tea roses; Mrs. E. McGinn, black crepe suede with diamante trimming; Miss Ormond, daffodil crepe de chine; Miss M. Peacocke, black floral chiffon taffetas. During the evening Airs. Pilling thanked all those who had helped at the recent fair and congratulated them on the successful results achieved. An enjoyable concert programme had been arranged for the occasion. Solos were sung by Mrs. J. Price, Mrs. J. Hall, Miss M. Murphy, Miss Joan Moody and Mr. Val Mulgan. They were accompanied on the piano by Miss O'Leary. Miss Doreen Saunders recited and Mr. J. Sweeney gave humorous items. Piano solos were played by Mrs. Aubrey Jones.
