SHOOTING FATALITY

HORSHAM DOWNS ACCIDENT INQUEST ADJOURNED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday An inquest into the death of Albert Jame3 Whyte, aged 14, who died at the Waikato Hospital following a shotgun accident while rabbit-shoot-ing at Komakorau, near Taupiri, earlier in the day, yas opened before Mr. F. W. Platts, coroner. Evidence of identification was given by deceased's father, Arthur Whyte, share-milker, of Horsham Downs. Dr. E. H. Bridgman stated that deceased had a gunshot wound above the right knee when admitted to hospital. He was suffering from loss of blood and extreme shock.* Owing to his general condition being so serious, it was not possible to carrv out any surgical correction of the wound. Death was due to hemorrhage and shock. The inquest was adjourned until an opinion on the shotgun could be obtained from an expert in Wellington, and also for the evidence of Arthur Parkes and Bert Yalintine Whyte, deceased's brother, who were with deceased at the time of the accident.
