GORSE AND BBOOM MATAMATA COUNTY PREVALENCE [from OUR OWN correspondent] PUTARURTJ, Tuesday Prevalence of gorse and broom in the Matamata County was discussed at the county council's November meeting. Mr. K.JS. Cox said that both gorso and broom were in full flower on the Education Reserve at Tokoroa. The council's noxious weeds gang, said Mr. H. T. Brill, noxious weeds inspector, would shortly be put on the block mentioned. In that class of country any type of weed would spread qU ßn>oni and gorse were also much in evidence in parts of the Peria, Te Pot and Karapiro ridings, said the chairman, Mr. J. W. Anderson. Blackberry was giviing a good deal of trouble in parts' of the county. Mr Brill said that ragwort had been regarded, as the primary menace. Now that progress was being made with the clearance of this, the attention of the gang would be turned to other noxious weeds.
