Colo, 30. TRANSPORT CLUB OPENS CEREMONY AT ROYAL OAK The Auckland Transport Bowling Club held its official opening at Royal Oak on Saturday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, chairman of tho Auckland Transport Board. Visitors were present from Wellington, Te Awamutu and Wnangarei, while Judge Thomson, of tho Mossman Club, New South Wales, also was present. There waß a record attendance. PAPATOETOE FUNCTION JUBILEE CELEBRATION A club rink tourney to mark the celebration of the silver Jubileo of tho Papatoetoe Bowling Club was held on Saturday under ideal conditions. Sixteen teams entered and tho winners were Shepherd, Jackson, Cot and S. McCuilougb, tho runners-up being Edmond, Findlay, Taylor and Stephenson. During the afternoon tho president, Mr. J. TrimDle, addressed members and called upon the foundation members, Messrs. J. Watson. J. Bryant and J. Wyllie, to officiate at the cake-cutting ceremony. The birthday cako wa3 fashioned in resemblance of a miniature bow'ing green. Members of the croquet club co-operated with tho, club in arranging tho social function during the interval.
