TRADE TREATY
BRITAIN AND AMERICA LAST STAGE REACHED UNITED STATES' NOTE OFFICIALS CONFIDENT By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received Novombor 0, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 8 Officials at Washington are inclined to attach no particular significance to the omission from King George's address to Parliament of any references to the reciprocal ti - ade treaty. It is believed that this merely means the British Cabinet has not yet acted in regard to the proposals contained in a Note which the United States sent to London late last week.
When this Note is ncted upon it will be known more clearly when the negotiations will bo completed. The Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, reported in a statement to the press that negotiations had not broken down, and were, in the last stage, whatever the outcome may be. Other officials of the State Department stated with confidence that the success of the negotiations was assured with only a few remaining details awaiting adjustment.
