FEDERAL MINISTRY
READJUSTMENT MADE MR. WHITE'S RESIGNATION COMMENT FROM LONDON (Received November 9, 8.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 0 As the result of the resignation of Mr. T. W. White from the reconstructed Federal Cabinet Mr. J. A. Perkins, Minister without portfolio assisting the Prime Minister, replaces Mr. White as Minister of Customs. Mr. E. .T. Harrison was appointed assistant Minister without portfolio to take over Mr. Perkins' duties. The Prime Minister, Mr. Lyons, announced that it has been decided to include Mr. G. A. Street, the new Minister, of Naval, Military and Air Defence, in the Inner Cabinet. A cablegram from London says that the Times, in an editorial, says: "As happened here, the Cabinet reconstruction which had become necessary in Australia was made with the minimum of change, but the new Cabinet has not made a very promising start. Ihe nnedifying bickering following the two important changes has not helped the Government, which, however, will be judged eventually by its .success in repairing the gaps in defence."
